If you engage in a Prayer practice or want to deepen yours, all while being in sacred service, this training program is for you! 

What It Is
The Prayer Chaplain Training Program is a spiritually immersive, 9‑hour intensive offered across two consecutive days, followed by two additional 2‑hour training sessions. The program provides foundational instruction in Unity’s Prayer Chaplain model, including sacred skills, holding spiritual space, listening, and practices for creating a prayer‑centered community. No previous experience in prayer or praying with others is required.

When & Where

All training sessions are held virtually on Zoom.

  • 9-Hour Intensive (Required):
    • Friday, February 27th — 5:00pm–8:00pm CT
    • Saturday, February 28th — 10:00am–4:00pm CT
  • Follow‑Up Training (Required):
    • Wednesday, March 18th — 6:00pm–8:00pm CT
    • Wednesday, April 8th — 6:00pm–8:00pm CT

Additional Requirements

  • Completion of all three UVC Prayer Workshops (Uplift In & With Prayer series, also offered February 2026)
  • Dedication Ceremony — 1 hour
  • Ongoing Monthly Meetings for active Prayer Chaplains 
  • $60 Training Materials are gifted to each participate by an anonymous donor

Who Can Participate

  • Anyone feeling called to deepen their spiritual path through prayer and service.
  • No prior experience in prayer practice or praying with others is needed.
  • Participants do not need to live locally; all components are virtual or hybrid.
  • After training, individuals will complete an interview before receiving an invitation to join the Prayer Chaplain Team.

How to Participate

  1. Register for the program
  2. Attend all required training sessions (Intensive + Follow‑ups).
  3. Complete the UVC Prayer Workshop Series before or during February 2026.
  4. Participate in the Dedication Ceremony.
  5. Complete an interview for possible invitation to join the Prayer Chaplain Team.
  6. Once accepted, attend ongoing monthly Prayer Chaplain meetings.
  7. At the end of the training, you may offer a generosity love offering as a sacred exchange to support UVC’s work.
